Since 28th October, Mercy Relief has been in the thick of ashes in Merapi as our field team is currently working closely with the local authorities of Magelang. We have focused our effort to the serve 30,000 IDPs in Dukun sub-district by procuring and supplying medical equipment and medication for upper respiratory, gastrointestinal, skin and eye problems to the Dukun Health Centre.

While MR continues to uplift the lives of Asia’s poor and disaster-stricken communities including the ongoing relief efforts in tsunami and volcano-stricken Indonesia, locally, MR is organising a Stakeholders’ Golf & Dinner on 25 November 2010 at the Keppel Club to gather its stakeholders and share on MR’s paths and progress over the last two years and plans moving forward.  In tandem, MR hopes to raise funds for its expansionary efforts to strengthen its resource capacity and response capability to better address humanitarian crises and risk mitigation in Asia as the organization marks 7 years of humanitarian service in the region this year.

PITCHING FOR MERCY, PUTTING ASIA RIGHT

MR cordially invites you to join us at the coming Stakeholders’ event and hope that you would pitch in with your putt. Advisor to Mercy Relief, Speaker of Parliament Abdullah Tarmugi, will be teeing-off and participating in the Stakeholders’ Golf.  Minister for Foreign Affairs, George Yeo, will be gracing the Stakeholders’ Dinner as the Guest-of-Honour.
