Current Volunteering Opportunities

The Mercy Relief Wall Mural Project is not only an opportunity for art lovers and artists to showcase their craft but also provides an opportunity to contribute to a meaningful cause. The mural will serve as a symbol of inspiration for communities that have experienced the challenges of disasters and highlight the beauty of art in fostering healing and positive change.

Slated for completion by end of first quarter 2024, we are delighted to invite art lovers and artists to create an abstract concept that visually communicates Mercy Relief’s indomitable spirit and commitment to humanitarian aid for vulnerable communities.

If this project interests you, please write in to rebecca.topping@mercyrelief.org.

What former interns say:

“Before becoming a Mercy Relief intern, I was quite curious about the humanitarian sector. MR gave me the once-in-a-lifetime front row seat of experiencing how a disaster relief charity works behind-the-scenes. Throughout my time with MR, I learned that we can always make a big difference in the lives of those in need – even when we are not on the ground.”

Yap Xiao Hui, Universiti Brunei Darussalam

“My time with Mercy Relief was filled with acquiring insights about the world of humanitarian work and understanding the essence of marketing & how vital fundraising campaigns are for non-profits organisations in Singapore. The lovely team made me feel very welcomed and comfortable albeit being miles away from home. I am greatly thankful for this opportunity and would do it all over again in a heartbeat! “

Katharina Dackweiler, Europa Schule Kerpen, Germany

“My internship with MR has been very insightful so far. During the short 2 months, I learnt a lot about the background works that goes into each project- from the proposal, implementation and post-project. It was very eye-opening to work with a team that has a wide breadth of knowledge about the international disaster relief works within the region and I definitely did takeaway a skill or two that I see myself using in the future.”

Kok Hui Lin, Nanyang Technological University

“This internship has also been a most insightful one as it taught me the intricacies of humanitarian projects and how nothing is as simple as it seems. This is especially true when it comes to distributing donations and developing sustainable projects that can alleviate detriments that come with natural disasters in the long run. I was able to look at things from a different angle and learnt different ways on how I can contribute my assistance and evoke positive change. My heartfelt gratitude goes to Mercy Relief for teaching me that when it comes to helping others, everybody plays a role and that no matter how small we think we are, the change that we are capable of making is bigger than ourselves; it’s all a matter of whether or not we’re willing to take that step forward.”

Farah Ghazali, Universiti Brunei Darussalam

“Internship at Mercy Relief offers fresh insights and perspectives to humanitarian work in Singapore. The environment is overall nurturing and supportive.”

Ember Wang, Singapore Institute of Technology

“It has been an overall fun and rewarding experience working alongside the experienced staff at Mercy Relief. I thoroughly enjoyed how we could turn our ideas into reality while embarking on many meaningful projects to promote their cause. Thank you for the amazing time, Mercy Relief.”

Jane Wong, Nanyang Technological University
