Following the 34-day period of hostility between Lebanon and Israel, MR sent a 2-man recce mission to access the needs of affected communities and to establish partnership with local NGOs for a concerted aid effort. Following the assessment, MR linked up with the Lebanese Welfare Association for the Handicapped to distribute 1,000 play packs and books donated by the Singaporean public to the children who were badly traumatized by the situation. Each pack also came with a personal hand-written note of encouragement from children in Singapore of different faiths, addressed to the recipient.
